Materials Repository
Icons, names, and specs for every material — plus where to find it and what it's used to craft.
Scrap Metal
Bent sheet fragments and loose metal stock stripped from wrecked vehicles and dead machinery. The baseline building block for early tools and fortification.
Sources: Vehicle wrecks, dumpsters, garages, industrial buildings.
Sheet Metal
Flat rolled metal panels, sturdier than raw scrap. Used for fortified walls, doors, and vehicle armor plating.
Sources: Industrial sites, warehouses, construction yards.
Springs
Coiled tension springs pulled from furniture, mattresses, and mechanical parts. Needed for firearm and mechanism crafting.
Sources: Furniture, mattresses, vehicles, workshops.
Cloth Rags
Torn fabric scraps. The first-resort material for makeshift bandages before proper medical supplies are available.
Sources: Clothing racks, laundry, dressers, dead survivors.
Duct Tape
All-purpose adhesive tape. Binds weapon attachments, patches gear, and reinforces crafted items.
Sources: Garages, toolboxes, utility closets.
Leather
Treated hide used for armor padding and holsters. Hard Leather (a refined form) unlocks with advanced crafting stations.
Sources: Furniture, clothing stores, tanneries.
Chemicals
Bottled industrial and household chemicals used in crafting cleaning agents, fuel treatments, and some medical items.
Sources: Garages, sheds, cleaning cabinets, industrial sites.
Rubbing Alcohol
Disinfectant used to sterilize wounds and craft medical supplies. Reduces infection risk after zombie encounters.
Sources: Bathrooms, medical cabinets, pharmacies.
Tree Branch
Raw wood gathered directly from trees and deadfall. Basic fuel and early tool component.
Sources: Forests, parks, wooded map edges.
Wood Plank
Milled lumber used for early shelter construction, furniture barricades, and tool handles.
Sources: Furniture, construction sites, forests (via axe).
Electrical Wiring
Copper wiring salvaged from appliances and wall fixtures. Required for power systems and electronic devices.
Sources: Appliances, wall outlets, electronics stores.
Electronic Parts
Circuit boards and salvaged components from radios, computers, and appliances. Used in advanced devices and vehicle repair.
Sources: Electronics stores, offices, radios, computers.
Antiseptic
Medical-grade disinfectant used to prevent and treat infection and sickness from wounds.
Sources: Hospitals, pharmacies, medical cabinets.
Bandage
Sterile wrap for treating open wounds. More reliable than cloth rags and crucial after zombie encounters.
Sources: Medical cabinets, first aid kits, hospitals, pharmacies.
Graphite
Soft carbon ore mined from cavern deposits. Used in advanced tool and ammunition crafting.
Sources: Mining nodes inside caverns (e.g. Rook Cavern).
Hematite
Iron-rich ore mined underground and refined into usable metal stock for higher-tier crafting.
Sources: Mining nodes inside caverns.
Canned Food
Shelf-stable preserved food. The most reliable early hunger source before farming or cooking stations are set up.
Sources: Kitchens, pantries, convenience stores, vending machines.
Water Bottle
Sealed drinking water. Thirst kills faster than hunger — treat this as a Day 1 priority pickup.
Sources: Kitchens, stores, vending machines, water sources (purified).
Gasoline
Combustible fuel for vehicles and generators. Siphon from wrecks or find in canisters.
Sources: Vehicle fuel tanks, gas stations, garages.
Empty Casings
Spent shell casings collected for reloading ammunition.
Sources: Shooting ranges, military sites, battle debris.
Gunpowder
Refined propellant used to assemble ammunition at a crafting bench.
Sources: Military locations, ammo crafting, rare civilian finds.
Nails
Loose fasteners used in nearly every construction and fortification recipe.
Sources: Toolboxes, hardware stores, construction sites.
Rubber
Flexible salvaged rubber from tires and hoses. Used for grips, seals, and vehicle repair.
Sources: Vehicles, garages, industrial sites.
